Context

As Operations Data Engineer, you join our newly created Internal Operations Team, currently made of 3 people.

Greenly uses companies’ accounting files to calculate their carbon footprint. As the starting point of the carbon footprint assessment, the quality of the accounting file processing is crucial.
Helping our Climate Experts (your internal customers) ensure that our customers’ accounting files are correctly processed & ingested into our tool will be one of your missions and make up about one-third of your time.

In addition to that, the Internal Operations Team is a very transversal team, meaning you will find yourself working with all departments of the company (Climate Experts, Marketing, Sales,…), on varying topics (data engineering & analytics, automation, processes, technical support). This will make up the other two-thirds of your time.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Accounting files processing (1/3 of your time)

• Control the quality of Greenly’s algorithm processing on French accounting files
• Suggest improvements to the algorithm and work towards complete automation
• Integrate external APIs to handle international accounting ingestion

Data engineering & analytics, automation, processes, technical support (2/3 of your time)

• Mid-term projects, e.g.: integrate external APIs (Google Ads, Shopify,…) to make data useful for carbon accounting available to climate experts ; implementation and maintenance of a new tool for climate experts’ project management ; work alongside the Sales ops team to improve their operations ; help Marketing team on technical tasks (e.g. data retrieval and visualization) ; …
• Improve internal tools (automation, quality, satisfaction), using low/no code tools
• Participate in ensuring scalability, time efficiency, ease and quality of the other teams’ operations
• Ensure that all the useful data at Greenly’s disposal can be trusted and exploited at its full potential
• Exploit this data and make it accessible (transformation, visualization) to help teams make data-oriented decisions
• Technical support to other teams regarding tools, bugs, spontaneous data requests (data exploration, SQL queries)

You are the candidate we are looking for if you tick these boxes:

• Engineering background or similar
• Good skills in Python & the pandas library, Excel, SQL
• Aware of and interested by environmental issues
• Basic carbon accounting knowledge and/or eager to learn more
• Autonomous, dynamic, able to adapt and quickly switch between different tasks
• Meticulous, well-organised, analytical-minded
• Attracted by efficiency, optimisation & continuous improvement
• Good speaking and understanding of English (team communicates in English)
