Our mission: use technology to digitalize and transform the international transportation industry 🚢

OVRSEA is a next-generation multimodal freight forwarder committed to simplifying & optimizing international freight management through technology. OVRSEA provides its clients with industry expertise and high end-to-end visibility to meet their needs on sea, air, road and rail over all transport stages, from loading to customs declarations.

Founded in 2017, OVRSEA currently supports +700 clients from its offices in Paris, New York, Miami, Barcelona and Milan.

We are looking for ambitious people who can join our team and be part of our growing company!

The role 🤝

We're looking for a freelance HR professional to temporarily step in as HR Manager during our current HR manager’s maternity leave.

You’ll oversee the HR function across 4 countries, manage a small team (Raphael, HR Officer in apprenticeship and Marie, part-time Office Manager), and ensure smooth HR operations and a strong employee experience – from onboarding to offboarding. You’ll also act as a trusted partner to managers and the Executive Committee.

This role requires a hands-on, autonomous, and rigorous HR expert who enjoys both strategic thinking and operational excellence.

We are expecting the person to be in the Paris office at least 50% of the time after the ramp-up period.

What will you do? 🦸

HR operations (50%)

- Ensure proper execution of all core international HR processes by the HR Officer (payroll, onboarding, offboarding, contracts & amendments, employee benefits...) across all 4 markets.

- Ensure continuity of existing HR policies when no intervention is needed, and drive or coordinate processes when HR input is required (internal mobility, remote work, compensation policy, career paths, etc.).

- Design and implement new policies or processes where relevant.

- Coordinate the relationship with the French CSE and lead related meetings.

- Provide regular HR reporting to the Executive Committee.

- Ensure our compliance with applicable labor laws.

Talent development: pre-planned & new initiatives (20%)

The following initiatives are already scheduled during the period.

- September: Launch of the quarterly mentoring program.

- October: Launch and reporting of the bi-annual employee engagement survey.

- December: Launch of the “Swap My Job” internal initiative.

- December+January: Rollout and follow-up of the performance review & compensation cycle.

A few additional initiatives may be added to the talent development calendar based on employee and manager needs at that time.

Manager & employee support (20%)

- Act as a daily point of contact and advisor to managers on all individual and collective HR matters (onboarding, performance, compensation, labor law, individual cases…).

- Be the main HR point of contact for all employees across 4 countries.

Office management (10%)

- Supervise office-related matters in Paris through the Office Manager (general maintenance, admin support, coordination of breakfasts & ad hoc internal initiatives).

- Oversee the organization of internal events, including the annual offsite (October) and Winter party (January).

Who are we looking for? 🔎

- At least 3 years of experience in a similar HR role with ownership over core HR topics at an international level.

- Strong execution skills, able to take full ownership of topics and see them through.

- Solution-oriented and highly autonomous.

- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Fluent French speaker and professional level in English required. Spanish or Italian are a plus.

- Knowledge of the Syntec collective agreement is a bonus.

Why join us at OVRSEA? 💚

- Join a corporate backed startup for an incredible human adventure. Together, let's make a huge impact on the international transport revolution!

- Be part of our team of ambitious and talented individuals who share our values: analytical thinking, quality execution, and a deep thirst for learning.

- Work in a vibrant work environment and take on challenging projects, collaborating with other teams while enjoying a high level of ownership and autonomy.

- Flexible working from home policy.

- Engage in exciting events, including weekly culture presentations (the famous OVRSEA “PICs”), learning sessions, team rituals, and great parties!
