About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented person to join our team and as the first Business Development Manager based in France. Reporting to the General Manager France, as a key player in driving growth and fostering strategic partnerships, you will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on French speaking markets business opportunities within the rapidly evolving EdTech landscape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a passion for advancing education through innovative technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities in the EdTech sector.

  2. Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate, manage and initiate relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, government bodies, and industry partners to drive collaboration and business expansion.

  3. Sales Growth: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, driving the adoption of our products.

  4. Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the needs of prospective clients, showcasing the value proposition of our product.

  5. Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations, overcome objections, and secure profitable contracts, driving successful deal closures.

  6. Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities, offering insights to guide strategic decision-making.

  • Is extremely organized and structured. Able to navigate in matrixed environments in autonomy

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in various countries, collaborating with various teams (such as product development, marketing, and customer success,) to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing client satisfaction.

  • Strong strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze data and make informed decisions.

  • Pays attention to details and can multitask

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  2. Experience: Proven track record of at least 5 to 10 years in business development, sales, or related roles

  3. Sales Acumen: Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to close complex deals in various cultural environments

  4. Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust with key stakeholders.

  5. Communication: fluent in French and in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

  6. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changes and evolving market conditions.

  7. Tech Savvy: Familiarity with educational technologies and a passion for driving innovation in the education sector.

  8. Likes to get their hands dirty: database qualification and structuring

  1. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the EdTech landscape, including international trends, challenges, and opportunities.

  2. Experience in multinationals: proven record of successful missions within matrixed organizations in multicultural context
