Descriptif du poste

Company Environment:

Although most of us are now aware of the threat from climate change, taking individual actions to this global challenge might seem overwhelming. As an answer “measure, reduce, compensate”is a common motto towards a step-by-step approach to tackle this problem. Greenly’s mission is exactly accompanying companies on that road. Greenly has been awarded the GreenTech label from the Ministry of Ecological Transition for its positive impact in our fight against global warming.

In practice, Greenly measures the carbon footprint of companies based on different data sources : accounting information, energy bills, inventories, etc. Based on these data, carbon experts propose action plans and suggest low carbon alternatives to reduce emissions, and finally the possibility to contribute to various climate projects.

Working at Greenly, you will join this dynamic start-up environment, with a team of young & skilled engineers, motivated by having a positive impact on the environment and our society.

The Position:

The technical team is looking for an outstanding and motivated intern to join the Data Science & Customer Success team and contribute equally to the missions of both teams. The intern will hence have a global vision of the product and will quickly build skill to take key responsibilities.
The intern will be in charge of the following missions :
Data Science
Carbon Footprint Calculation : The intern will quickly become an expert in carbon footprint and will push the boundaries of the carbon footprint calculation to become more precise and to cover more areas. It will hence further improve our knowledge base through the creation of new emission monetary factors, data mining, scientific reports reviews and benchmarks.
Low Carbon Action Plans: The intern will be in charge of the improvement of Greenly’s action plan library through the construction of new action plans, quantification of emission reduction potential, partners identification, etc.
Automatic Data Import: Accounting data are processed and imported in Greenly’s platform automatically. The intern will be in charge of contributing to the improvement and the fine tuning through discussion and choice of parameters. This step requires basic knowledge of Python and terminal commands.
Calculating the carbon footprint is at the core of our algorithm and is a challenging task requiring strong analytical skills, the capacity to navigate through a large variety of data sources to extract useful information, and creativity to innovate and propose solutions to deal with open problems.

Customer Success
Customer support : the intern will have the opportunity to work closely with Greenly’s customers, guide them through the platform, propose action plans, create carbon assessment reports, lead meetings, etc.
Specific missions for customers : as part of the customer success team, the intern will have the opportunity to work on consulting missions on a wide range of topics (Green IT, emission reduction, detailed road map, Life Cycle Analysis, etc…)

Working in a start-up environment, the intern will get a broad view of the company activities and will learn wide-ranging skills. He will quickly build skills relative to the ecological impact and the entrepreneurship world.

The successful candidate will be part of the Technical team, mostly young engineers passionate about climate change subjects.
Greenly is based at the heart of the Paris start-up environment in Station F.
The position is open to partial remote.

The position should ideally start between january and march 2022.
Working language at the Paris office is French such that a minimum fluency is required but some meetings will be in English as the company is currently internationalizing.
