Your purpose

You drive Zenchef’s partner integration strategy. You lead a small team and build secure, scalable APIs that connect ZenchefOS with the tools restaurants rely on every day.

Your team

You join the API/Partners squad, a cross-functional team that makes ZenchefOS work seamlessly with third-party systems. You collaborate with Product, Platform Engineering, and external partners, and report to the VP of Engineering. Our tech team includes about 45 engineers across product squads and core services, all focused on building a scalable SaaS platform for restaurants.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of 2–5 backend engineers to build quality APIs with a strong engineering culture

• Own the strategy and roadmap for our public partner-facing APIs

• Design and build secure, multi-tenant APIs using PHP and Laravel

• Use tools like OAuth2, RBAC, and Keycloak to protect our APIs

• Define technical scope and implementation with Product to deliver on the partner roadmap

• Keep our API documentation, code, and tests at a high standard

• Support an event-driven architecture and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Act as the main technical contact for integration partners

• Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure performance and scalability

Requirements:

What you will bring to the table

• 3+ years of backend development experience with PHP and Laravel

• Strong experience designing and maintaining public APIs for external developers

• Knowledge of API security (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC)

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and event-driven architecture

• Leadership experience—formal or informal—in engineering teams

• Comfortable with AWS and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Spacelift

• Proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

• Bonus points: knowledge of the hospitality industry, of tools like Keycloak, and the French language
