Upway is the world leader of refurbished e-bike. We have purchased, refurbished and sold more than 50,000 e-bikes globally. These e-bikes come from 400 brands and several thousands of models.

Properly identifying bikes is key for Upway as it impacts all areas of the business:

• Improved UX for sellers to Upway

• Efficiency and automation in our internal processes

• Customer trust and providing the most reliable information for e-bikes

Goal
The goal of this role is to create a repository of all e-bike models ever produced, including model name, year of production, sizes, specs (motor, battery, transmission, …), options and equipments and price

Key Responsabilities

You will be the first person hired on this topic. You will be responsible for understanding the topic in depth, building your game plan and executing against it.

This includes:

1. Analyzing e-bike brands and understanding how their catalog is structured

2. Prioritizing which brands to tackle in each order

3. Processing and extracting structured information from manufacturers or retailers

4. Building the pipelines and data model to store this information and making it accessible to applications

• Business-driven mindset: This task is very entrepreneurial. We know exactly where we want to go, but the methods for getting there are very varied

• Autonomy and ownership: You’ll be the first person dedicated to this subject, so you’ll be responsible for defining your action plan and executing that plan

• Data structure & data engineering: This bike repository needs to be stored in a format that can be easily extended, and consumed by various applications

• Bike knowledge: A big plus for this project (not essential), to navigate through the many details offered by electric bike models
