Descriptif du poste

Reporting to the Head of Cell Engineering and Analysis Platform, you will be responsible for target validation, cell modeling and molecular biology-based technology development. This role will involve close cross-functional collaboration with project teams to design and perform assays that are critical to support oncology projects. You will participate in innovative programs in the Research Pharmacology Unit, within a stimulating environment to explore cutting-edge technologies with a high potential for scientific impact.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Discover and validate innovative targets
  • Design and conduct scientific experiments and studies, make detailed scientific observations, analyze data, interpret and present results
  • Develop new format/concepts for disease relevant cellular models (2D/3D models, microfluidics, organoids, …)
  • Elucidate key mechanisms of action of drugs (small molecules or biologics) in target cells
  • Evaluate, implement and develop core-expertise in innovative methodologies and techniques
  • Collaborate in the design and analysis of genomic editing strategies, within the framework of advanced biotechnology research projects
  • Contribute to the progress of oncology projects and strategic decision-making by joining the Core Team of experts
  • Manage outsourcing requests
  • Rigorously document protocols and results within the framework of quality assurance.
  • Follow and optimize business process guiding operational workflow (tools and cell declaration and ministerial requests)
  • Lead and develop a small team by providing scientific guidance, career development support, and foster a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Ensure clear communication of objectives, empower team members, monitor performance, and act as a role model with a focus on scientific excellence and integrity

Desired Profile:

Academic Background

Ph.D and a post-doc in basic research, cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field

Expertise

  • Strong expertise in cellular cancer biology and cell culture 2D/3D/organoids/iPSCs
  • Extensive knowledge in cell engineering and gene editing (molecular biology, CRISPR-Cas editing strategies)
  • Practical knowledge in cellular assays (flow cytometry, imaging, biochemistry)
  • Experience in conducting biology programs for drug discovery projects
  • Capability to manage, inspire and motivate team members, fostering a positive, empowering and collaborative work environment that encourages high performance and innovation toward a common objective
  • Ability to make informed and timely decisions, especially in challenging situations, ensuring the team stays focused and aligned with strategic goals

Soft Skills

  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Perfect communication and presentation skills, both written and oral (French/English)

Experience

5+ years of experience in cancer biology, drug discovery (academic/biotech/pharma)
