Job Opportunity: Post-Doctoral Fellow in Oncology Drug Discovery

Are you a dynamic and innovative researcher passionate about advancing cancer treatment? We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to join our oncology drug discovery team, focusing on hard-to-treat cancers. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in replenishing our drug discovery pipeline, particularly in the early stages, by identifying novel targets and targeting cancer-specific mutations.

Why Join Us?

Impactful Research: The tumor suppressor TP53 is the most commonly mutated gene in cancer, with mutations prevalent in 20-75% of oncology diseases and associated with poor prognosis. There are currently no targeted treatments for patients with TP53 mutations, highlighting a significant medical need and an area ripe for creative strategies.

Innovative Environment: Lead efforts to identify and target novel cancer-specific mutations, particularly those involving TP53, making a significant impact in oncology by addressing critical unmet medical needs.

Collaborative Team: Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of research efforts with broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategies for setting up 2D and 3D cultures and assay conditions to select human cell lines for cellular screening and cell painting.
  • Execute primary and secondary screens to identify potential drug candidates.
  • Characterize bioactive molecules to evaluate their potency, specificity, selectivity, and early signs of efficacy and toxicity.
  • Conduct cellular target deconvolution to identify novel targets and develop drugs specifically targeting cancer mutations.
  • Study the mechanism of action of molecules, including cell death signaling pathways.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research efforts align with organizational goals.
  • Propose new ideas and targets based on literature or personal research findings.
  • Actively follow literature on the subject.
  • Present research findings at internal meetings.
  • Prepare and publish protocols and scientific manuscripts under the direction of the manager.
  • Comply with health and safety rules and required quality standards.
