KEY RESPONSABILITIES

 

Landscaping/Preliminary Assessments

 

  • Lead review tools/processes for M&A landscaping activities
  • Identify value creating ideas and help build M&A pipeline
  • Implement active surveillance program including tracking of key scientific, commercial, financial data and significant value inflection points to ensure proactive assessments are timed appropriately
  • Pilot preliminary assessment of targets, including but not limited to overall strategic fit, investment thesis, business case, key due diligence topics and preliminary financial valuation
  • Lead deep dive cross functional assessments of M&A targets in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Prepare recommendations and supporting documentation for Deal Committee approval
  • Monitor, evaluate, present key insights from competitors M&A transactions
     

 

Transaction Execution

 

  • Execute M&A, JV, asset swaps, spin-offs, equity investments and other strategic transactions 
  • Beginning to end of transaction scope (sourcing to closing)
  • Collaborate on due diligence processes with internal stakeholders and external advisers
  • Champion legal documentation drafting and contractual negotiations

REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Advanced degree in Science, with additional Business or Law degree
  • More than 10 years of analytical experience or direct deal or investing experience within the M&A/corporate development group of a pharma/biotech corporate or within the healthcare coverage group of an investment bank or pharma/biotech focused private equity/growth capital fund
  • Significant understanding of the global pharma/biotech industry opportunities and challenges including drug development, regulatory processes, IP, market access/reimbursement and commercial execution
  • Proven track record supporting/executing transactions (deal sheet will be considered in line with experience)
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects driven by short time frames
  • Strong teamwork skills and extensive experience interacting with cross-functional teams
  • Results-oriented attitude, with a participative, high energy–style, strong personal work ethic
  • Autonomous and rigorous in approach
  • Quantitative and technical computer skills including Excel and Powerpoint
  • Fluent in English, additional European language is beneficial but not a requirement
  • Prior international experience preferred
