Descriptif du poste

Servier has an opening for an Associate Scientist or Scientist in Biophysics, depending on experience. You will be a part of the Structural Sciences group, which hosts research teams in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Protein production, and Computational Chemistry. We are looking for a candidate to join a dedicated Biophysics team with the mission to characterize protein-ligand interactions with biophysical techniques. The studies you will conduct are critical for the advancement of research therapeutic projects which aim to cover unmet medical needs.

The successful candidate will perform lab work focused on the characterization of protein/ligands interaction. He or she will bring experience in developing and applying biophysical techniques to generate binding data including steady-state, kinetic and thermodynamic data. Having additional experience in an industrial setting would be a plus to support drug discovery in a diverse portfolio of therapeutic projects (Oncology, Neurology, Autoimmune disease).

Responsabilities :

- As part of the biophysics team in the In Vitro Pharmacology unit, you plan, design and perform hands-on biophysical experiments to support Servier in the discovery of novel therapeutic molecules.

- According to project needs, you will implement robust and efficient biophysical characterization strategies by setting up standard or custom protocols.

- You will be accountable for the analysis of your own work and for delivering and maintaining accurate and complete records of all findings.

- You clearly communicate your results through both formal and informal, written and verbal communications with internal and external stakeholders.

- You will be involved in therapeutic project teams and contribute to the implementation and delivery of innovative drug discovery strategies.

Qualification :

A PhD degree or a Master’s/Engineer degree in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or any related fields

0-3 years of experience after PhD degree, 2-5 years of experience after Master’s/Engineer degree

Hard skills :

- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with biophysical techniques such as SPR, MST, ITC, BLI, TSA, DLS, fluorescence-based assay, NMR, MS

- Abillity to develop assays, methods and run experiments autonomously, as well as analyzing and reporting results

- Ideally work experience in an industrial environment with automatization/robotization systems is of advantage.

- Ideally experience or knowledge in Fragment- or Structure-Based Drug Design (FBDD/SBDD), protein production, biochemistry and/or structural biology

Soft skills :

- You are able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team including biologists, chemists and biochemists

- You have organizational skills, and you can handle several projects in parallel and respond in quality and time to therapeutic project requests

- You are curious and open-minded with strong collaborative skills and enjoy actively engaging in team dynamics.

- With your critical mindset you contribute to scientific discussion, problem solving and identification and implementation of new scientific methods or technologies

- You have good English communication skills to present your work in front of either specialized or broader meetings (multidisciplinary project teams)
