Descriptif du poste

‘Etudes et Productions Schlumberger’ in Clamart (France) create and support future energy technologies by using our skills in system integration, harsh environment measurements, and data interpretation, all while boosting our digital capabilities. We design and manufacture tools for subsurface evaluation. The TLM (Technology Lifecycle Management) department of the WEC (Well Construction) group is looking for a Physicist apprentice.

The apprentice will work on-site under the supervision of senior physicists and the mission will cover the following tasks:

• Modeling: Acquire skills in using Monte Carlo modeling codes (such as MCNP) adapted to nuclear applications to simulate measurements in various subsurface environments.

• Algorithmic: Develop or improve measurement algorithms.

• Data Analysis: Develop expertise in analyzing experimental data using advanced analytics techniques.

• Technical Skills Development: Build proficiency in using specialized software and instruments pertinent to physics applications in the subsurface evaluation industry.

• Collaboration: Working with experienced physicists and engineers from various professional fields within the company.


Profil recherché

Desired profile: BAC + 3 or 4 in Applied Physics, Engineering or Instrumentation To fulfill this mission, the following skills are expected.

Technical skills:

o Physics Proficiency: Strong foundation in general physics principles and measurements. Knowledge in nuclear physics is a plus.

o Mathematical Proficiency: Strong understanding of calculus, algebra, and statistics

o Data Analysis: Ability to analyze and interpret data using MATLAB or Python language.

o Computational Skills: Familiarity with programming languages and simulation software.

o Experimental Techniques: Knowledge in instrumentation, measure, and metrology. Knowledge of nuclear acquisition and nuclear detectors is a plus.

Other skills:

o Communication: Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, to convey complex ideas.

o Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other scientists, engineers, and technician of various field o Time Management: Efficiently managing time to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

o Adaptability: Being flexible and open to learning new techniques and concepts o English Proficiency
