CONTEXT

Reforest’Action is linking its activities to the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM). It intends to use carbon finance as a tool to leverage development of forest-related projects with outstanding value for communities, soil, biodiversity, and climate.

The VCM is a market-based tool designed to channel financial flows towards mitigation solutions including enhancement of natural carbon pools. It allows individuals and organizations to finance Nature Based Solution projects with demonstrated carbon removals. The VCM is expected to grow 15-fold by 2030 and demand for forest-based projects is already driving the development of our reforestation and afforestation activities.

 In this context, Reforest’Action is looking for a Senior Carbon Manager to support the Certified carbon Project team on AFOLU project certification under VCM standards (VCS, Gold stanbdrads, VCS +CCB). 

YOUR KEY MISSIONS

  • Operational, technical and strategic supervision of a project portfolio

-      Supervision and support of the project team throughout the development process

-      Supervision of the various technical aspects of project development: design/operations, certification, monitoring, financial and contractual aspects from the opportunity phase through to implementation.

-      Ensure the operational performance and certification of a AFOLU projects’ portfolio

-      Lead for strategic interactions with the Project Implementer

-      Validate and take responsibilitý for all deliverables

-      Technical contribution to commercial activities for project promotion and financing.

  • Contribute to the structuring and development of the Climate Solution team on project-related issues:

-      Portfolio management: geographical distribution, project types, prioritization, etc.

-      Improvement of project development processes: general process optimization, due diligence, monitoring, business plans, project financial aspects, tools, etc

  • Contribute to the structuring and development of the CS team on non projects-related issues

-      Coordination with sales and operations teams,  distribution of roles;

-      Support for team skills development and training;

-      Reflection on the positioning of the Climate Solutions offering (marketing, sales, benchmarks, etc.);

-      Support the Sales & Business Development Department with sales proposals;

-      Participation in recruitment ;-

-       Carbon /VMC watch

 Representation in technical working groups or conferences


Profil recherché

PROFILE

Qualifications and experiences

  • At least 5 years of experience in the development of large scale projects for the VCM (VCS/Gold standard) with a preference for tropical areas

  • Experience in team management in a project context (1 to 5 people)

  • Field experience on ARR projects development (relationship with project implementer, contract negociations, due diligence, business plans,monitoring plans, operational implementation, etc.)

  • Deep knowledge of certification methodologies (ARR, IFM, etc.)
