The Operations team
The Operations (Ops) Team plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional customer experience at OVRSEA. Reactivity, excellence, pedagogy, and customer awareness are the guiding principles that drive our team!
The Ops team serves as the primary point of contact for our customers and acts as a bridge between all our carefully chosen service providers. These providers have been selected based on their commitment to delivering high-quality service, prompt responsiveness, and reliability.
What does it mean to be an Operations Management Intern at OVRSEA?
The Ops Manager responds to our customers’ requests for quotes in a fast and relevant way and have the role of making the pricing and purchasing operations more efficient by improving the tools and processes in place.
The Ops Manager communicates in real time with the customer concerning the evolution of the transport, informs him on the important stages, guides him in case of constraints and hazards and is a force of proposal if the situation requires it.
He is also in daily contact with the various service providers chosen (in general 4 to 5 service providers are necessary for an import*: an agent in a foreign country, the shipping company, the customs declarant, and the carrier*) and acts as a link between all the parties involved throughout the duration of the transport.
At the end of the transport, the Ops Manager is in charge of invoicing and billing the transport file.
For all these reasons, the Ops occupies a major role in OVRSEA’s activity, which makes it a key pillar for the company.
Your role in the Ops team:
👉 Transportation operations in large import or export (70%)
- Accompanying a portfolio of customers,
- Carrying out air, sea, road and rail transport,
- Customer advice and problem solving.
👉 Operational planning and pricing of international transport (15%)
- Response to customer requests for quotations,
- Participation in the improvement loop between quotation, operations and invoicing: be able to step back and improve upstream to make operations run more smoothly and invoicing easier.
👉 Manage customer invoicing (15%)
- Participation in the invoicing of transport files,
- Manage the contact with customers to explain the differences that may appear between the quotation and the billing.
Learning environment
You will start your internship with a 10-week theoretical training from Solenne, our expert transport instructor in the team! Additionally, you will work closely with an individual coach (a Senior Ops Manager). This dedicated coach will be fully committed to helping you gradually enhance your skills and become a transport expert. Get ready to enjoy this engaging learning experience!
