We are looking for a financial accountant to support our growing business in Paris. We will require the individual to gain a full understanding of all financial processes. Individual will support management of the business and help ensure statutory compliance.

As a financial accountant you will be responsible for:
Assisting in the preparation and review of annual financial accounts for the entity, initially by liaising with external accounting firms with the objective of progressively bringing some of the external accounting tasks in-house
Helping with the implementation of the new Group ERP that should take into account local rules and group rules
Documenting monthly reconciliations and review of balance sheets including intercompany accounts with online reporting
Submission of the quarterly financial accounts of Mott MacDonald France including variance commentary for group consolidation purposes
Reconciling annual financial statements to numbers in group accounting software and processing an adjustment journal to align them
Billings to both external suppliers and group subsidiaries
Processing of supplier invoices, staff expenses, and bank transactions plus conducting bank reconciliations
Liaising with HR to prepare gross pay of employees for submission to the external provider, organising the payment of net pay to employees and the accounting of payroll
Input of online payments using HSBC.net
Provision of financial advice to management with support from regional/group finance and external accounting firm as required
Ensuring compliance with Group Directives and Procedures on financial matters
Involvement in both annual external audit and periodic internal audit of financial processes and controls, being the main point of contact for auditors (external and internal)
Completion of annual confirmation process for financial controls
Interaction with Group Treasury in respect of bank account management, cash flow and currency management, IET frameworks and bonding requirements.
Helping in building tax credit files for our research and development activities
What we are looking for:
Experience in an accounting or financial audit role (2 to 6 years)
Ideally a graduate with at least a master 1 or 2 degree preferably in Accounting and Finance, Sciences, Economics, or Maths
Preferably an internationally recognised accounting qualification or if not close to completing one (DCG, DSCG…)
Good communication skills both written and verbal in both French and English (required for communication with head office and other parts of the group.)
Must be highly motivated and hands on
Good interpersonal skills required
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work well in a team
