Descriptif du poste

Kinetix is a start-up founded in 2020, specializing in artificial intelligence and 3D animation technologies. In collaboration with motion capture studios and highly-skilled actors and performers, we have built an extensive proprietary dataset of human motions rendered in various virtual scenes with an in-house synthetic data generation pipeline. Leveraging this dataset, we develop AI tools for character motion control in video diffusion models, as well as human pose estimation models to extract animations from videos.

Our R&D team is seeking an intern to help improve our data creation pipeline. You will join a long-term, multidisciplinary project involving research engineers specializing in 3D, computer graphics, and AI, alongside game developers and MLOps/cloud infrastructure engineers. You will also have the opportunity to attend motion capture sessions.

Depending on your profile, you will contribute to some of the following tasks:

  • Data acquisition: define future needs for motion data and help prepare motion capture sessions with our partners;

  • Data cleaning: assess the quality of recorded motions and develop tools to automate the detection of faulty animations;

  • Data augmentation: improve our retargeting methods (3D algorithms used to adapt recorded motions to characters of various heights and body shapes);

  • Human body modeling: enhance the realism of our human body model;

  • Synthetic data generation: propose and implement new features for our synthetic data pipeline in Unreal Engine, aiming to reduce the gap between our synthetic data and real-world videos (e.g., clothes simulation);

  • Data processing: build processing and filtering pipelines for our video diffusion model projects (e.g., with AI-based aesthetic score prediction and video captioning).


Profil recherché

Given the multidisciplinary nature of this project and the variety of tasks involved, we welcome applications from students with diverse backgrounds, including software engineering, AI/data engineering or science, applied mathematics, and Unreal Engine development.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python or C++ programming;

  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.


Déroulement des entretiens

  • Initial technical interview with our Head of AI;

  • Second call with the CTO, who will answer any questions you may have about the company.
