The Compliance function is a Second line of defense (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Asset management businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD”) to ensure that they effectively manage as “Risk Owners” the Financial Crime Compliance risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of ‘Risk Stewards’ who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Financial Crime Compliance function is a Risk Steward for a number of non-financial risks in accordance with HSBC Group’s risk framework.

The Financial Crime Compliance Advisory for the Asset Management activities is in charge of ensuring that the framework and its implementation by the business is effective in terms of identification, management and mitigation of Financial Crime risks.

What you’re going to do:
• With regard to Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) concerns, closely work with and support the business and the management of the asset management business and in particular provide them with timely and accurate advice and assist them with the aim of managing the risks of non-compliance with HSBC standards, applicable regulations and good market practices
• Identify, analyze and escalate regulatory or HSBC Group standards issues/breaches in terms of FCC related matters and, propose practical solutions
• Develop an efficient oversight on 1st line controls in conformity with HSBC standards and applicable regulations, and provide the required reports
• Contribute to the FCC trainings delivered to the first line of defense
• Contribute to the drafting and the annual update of internal procedures/process for FCC matters and make sure they apply the latest applicable regulations and HSBC standard
• Participate to the regulatory watch, provide adequate analysis to the business and assist them for their implementation
• Participate and contribute to internal meetings and meetings of professional associations
• Contribute to the Risk and Control Assessment of the company for FCC risks and assist the team in its the role of risk steward
• Contribute to HSBC group reportings and reportings to regulators
• Support in managing the relationship with relevant regulators on behalf of the business
• Be the contact point for specific FCC related matters for the business and functional lines
• Spread and foster local FCC culture and awareness
• Comply with HSBC Group standards and regulations applicable to FCC related matters

Conditions

Apply if you feel you match these skills.

  • Knowledge:

- French and English

- 5 years of experience in the asset management business

- Good knowledge of the French and European regulations in term of FCC for the asset management business

Post-graduated

- Computer literate
  • Skills:

- Ability to work with minimal supervision and on multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to have close and positive relationships with the business and the compliance function

- Pro-active to identify, escalate and propose practical solutions

- Ability to work with tight deadlines

- To be able to solve conflicts which could arise, firmly but diplomatically

- Excellent communication , team spirit and inter-personal skills
