Context

As Operations Engineer, you join our Internal Operations Team, made of 3 people.

Greenly uses companies’ accounting files to calculate their carbon footprint. As the starting point of the carbon footprint assessment, the quality of the accounting file processing is crucial.
Helping our Climate Experts (your internal customers) ensure that companies’ accounting files are correctly processed & ingested into our tool will be one of your missions and make up about half of your time.

Aside from that, the Internal Operations Team is a very transversal team, meaning you will find yourself working with all departments of the company (Climate Experts, Marketing, Sales,…), on varying topics (automation, processes, data engineering & analytics, technical support, documentation). This will make up the other half of your time.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Accounting files processing

• Control the quality of Greenly’s algorithm processing on French accounting files
• Manually process files that can not be automatically ingested by the algorithm using Python
• Suggest improvements to the algorithm

Automation, processes, data engineering & analytics, technical support, documentation

• Ensure scalability, time efficiency, ease and quality of the other teams’ operations
• Ensure that all the useful data at Greenly’s disposal can be trusted and exploited at its full potential
• Exploit the data and make it accessible (transformation, visualization) to help teams make data-oriented decisions
• Technical support regarding tools, bugs, spontaneous data requests (data exploration, SQL queries)
• Document your work

You are the candidate we are looking for if you tick these boxes:

• Engineering background or similar
• Strong skills in Python & the pandas library, Excel, SQL
• Aware of and interested by environmental issues
• Basic carbon accounting knowledge and eager to learn more
• Some knowledge in (financial) accounting will give you an advantage
• Autonomous, dynamic, able to adapt and quickly switch between different tasks
• Meticulous, well-organised, analytical-minded
• Attracted by efficiency, optimisation & continuous improvement
• Good understanding of English
