As Head of People Operations, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring compliance of all HR administrative and payroll processes for Free2move. You will lead an international team, guarantee operational excellence, and support the company’s growth by ensuring a first-class employee experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise monthly payroll administration (France, Germany, and international EU): data collection, transmission to our provider DEEL, payroll review and validation, management of social declarations.
  • Manage a People Ops team (4 employees based in Paris & Berlin), support their development and upskilling.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding payroll and personnel administration.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, contracts, medical requirements, certificates, etc., in compliance with labor laws.
  • Manage relationships with social organizations (insurance, provident funds, retirement, Pôle Emploi, CPAM, DREETS).
  • Participate in the deployment and optimization of HR tools/processes (notably DEEL), automate and systematize processes.
  • Develop monthly HR dashboards and ensure HR data tracking.
  • Proactively suggest and implement continuous improvements to the employee experience and internal processes.
  • Act as a strategic partner to top management on all People-related topics.
  • Ensure legal compliance and HR risk management (regulatory monitoring, audits, updating internal policies).
  • Collaborate closely with Finance on salary and budget matters.
  • Train and communicate with teams on process, tool, and regulatory changes.


Expected skills:

  • Confirmed experience (minimum 8 years) in a senior People Ops/HR role, ideally in a fast-growing international environment.
  • Mastery of payroll management, personnel administration, HR tools (HRIS, Excel/Sheets), and international social regulations.
  • Proven experience managing multicultural and multi-site teams.
  • Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).
  • Natural leadership, excellent communication skills, rigor, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
  • Analytical mindset, passion for continuous improvement, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong adaptability, agility, integrity, empathy, and discretion.
  • Passion for a people-first culture and supporting growth through talent.
