👉 We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join Escape and help build the foundations that power our security scanning platform at scale. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability, and software engineering. You will contribute directly to the reliability and scalability of Escape’s production systems, while also building internal platform tools used daily by our scanners and AI-driven components.
As part of the Platform team, you will work on the infrastructure that runs Escape as well as on shared services that enable other engineering teams to operate efficiently and safely.

You’ll be working in a close-knit team of 3 outstanding engineers under supervision of a technical lead
Platform Reliability: Contribute to the reliability, availability, and scalability of Escape’s infrastructure, ensuring production systems remain robust as usage grows.
Infrastructure Engineering: Design, operate, and improve cloud-native infrastructure running on Kubernetes, with a strong focus on automation and reproducibility.
Internal Platform Services: Develop and maintain shared services and tools used by other teams, such as browser provisioning for scanners, LLM inference infrastructure, and state or memory systems for LLM-based agents.
Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain infrastructure using IaC practices, enabling safe, repeatable changes across environments.
Operational Excellence: Participate in operational workflows, including deployments, incident response, and post-incident analysis, with a reliability-oriented mindset.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with product, scanners, and security research teams to understand their needs and provide scalable platform primitives.
Security Foundations: Contribute to improving the security posture of Escape’s platform, with increasing responsibility over time.
Cloud & Infrastructure: Kubernetes (EKS), cloud-native infrastructure on a major cloud provider
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
Execution Model: Containerized workloads running at scale, including long-running and resource-intensive jobs
Platform Services: Internal services supporting scanners and AI components (e.g. browser provisioning, LLM inference, shared state for agents)
Data & Storage: PostgreSQL, object storage (S3-compatible)
Messaging & Coordination: Queue-based and event-driven systems using Kafka
Observability: Metrics, logs, and tracing using OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud
CI/CD: GitLab CI with continuous delivery
Engineering Focus: Reliability, scalability, and building platform primitives that enable other engineering teams

2+ years of experience: Proven experience as a Software or Platform Engineer, ideally within a platform, SRE, or DevOps-oriented team.
Platform Exposure: Prior experience working on a platform or infrastructure team supporting other engineering teams.
Reliability Mindset: Solid understanding of reliability, scalability, and operational concerns in production systems.
Kubernetes Experience: Hands-on experience deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
Cloud Expertise: Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider.
Infrastructure as Code: Practical experience using IaC tools to manage cloud or Kubernetes infrastructure.
Scale-Up Environment: Experience working in a fast-growing startup or scale-up, comfortable with evolving systems and priorities.
Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively with other engineers and teams, and to communicate clearly about technical trade-offs.
Motivation: Interest in building foundational systems and tooling that enable other engineers to move faster and more safely.
