Digital Africa’s mission is to strengthen African entrepreneurs’ capacity to design and deploy digital innovations at scale to serve the real economy. Acting as a catalyst, Digital Africa brings together a set of partners of all nationalities—startups, incubators, venture capitalists, and cluster techs—committed to African digital entrepreneurs. Our approach is based on a clear diagnosis of the needs of entrepreneurs, directly from the field to develop a set of programs around two main areas:
Facilitating access to financing adapted from the pre-seed stage through the implementation of agile financing mechanisms
Support the development of those startups providing access to tools and expertise.
Digital Africa is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager to help the organisation to grow and diversify the source of funding.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
Duties and responsibilities of the fundraising Manager at Digital Africa shall include but not limited to:
Under the supervision of the Chief Partnership and Fundraising Officer, develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to enable Digital Africa to achieve its mission and vision.
Source and initiate relationships with potential funding sources, considering a special focus on European institutions. However, this may also include individual donors, Corporations, Foundations, Philanthropists, etc…
Prepare the annual workload and work plans based on the fundraising strategy set by Digital Africa.
Initiate and maintain a healthy, good and professional relationship with existing and potential new funders by ensuring the quality of the reports and clear communication between our two entities, namely the Digital Africa and the funder.
Put in place and maintain effective systems for tracking the fundraising status
Identify, prepare and participate in high-end events to meet the potential and relevant funders.
The candidate should have the following skills:
7 years of experience in a role that requires fundraising /building and developing partnership
Experience of working with international organisations especially in fundraising area
Experience in working with Development Financial institutions( DFIs)
Knowledge about tech entrepreneurs, startups and/or organisations working with/supporting startups, in Africa is a plus.
Project and communication skills
Rigour, synthesis skills with a pragmatic and data-driven approach.
Ability to thrive in new environments and quickly build lasting relationships collaboratively.

Strong writing skills and attention to detail
A solid personal passion for impact entrepreneurship, technology for development, and strong faith in Digital Africa’s mission
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Perfect mastery of French and English
Position to be filled permanently in Paris, France, or Brussel, Belgium.
Full time position, contract start date: May 2024
