Our Circularity / Rent team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer Back-end based in Paris or Lille.

DECATHLON is accelerating its digital transformation. We are building a platform as a Digital Giant, to revolutionize the practice of sport.

We see circularity as a key component of this revolution: reducing carbon impact, enabling access to high-performance equipment for as many people as possible, etc.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to build the rental solutions essential to circularity. Starting out by renting bicycles for children in France, we expanded our range to include bodybuilding with coaching, then adult bicycles and golf equipment. We have since opened up Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, and are continuing to expand. Our aim is to enable rental of all types of equipment, in all the countries where we are present, as an integral part of the new Decathlon United eCommerce platform.

The team is made up of around 30 people in Lille, Paris and Madrid, responsible for 4 products

YOUR FUTURE CONTRIBUTION

As a member of the Rental Offers team, comprising a Product Manager and Developers, your role will be to :

Design the service enabling rental offers to be created and updated in the various countries in which we operate.Design the technical roadmap for our productsAssess the technical and architectural choices that enable our services to scale and maintain their performance.Ensure that best practices for both Engineering Excellence and Operational Excellence are respected and kept up to date. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

You have at least 5 years' experience in developing backend services. You have a good knowledge of Java/JEE, Spring, Springboot, and in-depth experience of RESTful APIs, microservices architectures and continuous deployment.You have a strong quality mindset (best practices, testing, genericity and reusability, documentation).You know how to be pragmatic and step back to judge the relevance of technical choices.You are able to support more junior developers and train them in best practices.You're able to explain a technical subject to communicate with a wide, potentially less technical audience (leaders/executives).You are at ease in English, both orally and in writing.You have an agile mindset focused on continuous improvement and collective intelligence.You're passionate about technology and like to share and contribute.You're particularly sensitive to the impact of sports on your interpersonal and team values!You want to join a company with a positive impact (#Tech4Good).
