About BlaBlaCar

BlaBlaCar is the world’s leading community-based travel app enabling 27 million members a year to carpool or travel by bus in 21 countries. Our team of 800 employees counts over 50 nationalities and is spread across our 5 global offices, 30% working fully remotely.

About BlaBlaCar Daily

BlaBlaCar Daily is part of BlaBlaCar’s Western Europe business dedicated to short distance (less than 80 km distance) carpooling and in particular work to home commute. It is operated with a dedicated mobile application and brand. Strengthened by the acquisition merger of Klaxit in April 2023, short distance carpooling usage is growing rapidly, in collaboration with local collectivities (B2G) and private employers (B2B) co-financing partners.

You will join a small team of data analysts and engineers operating independently of other products at BlaBlaCar and contributing actively to the data and software development of the product. This can include Insights, our reporting solution for B2G and B2B customers, matching of driver and passengers and carpool features, as well as new features to support the needs of our members, partners and local collectivities. Our team is composed of experienced people that have worked on successful services before.

Your Mission

Our Data services are organised following Data Mesh principles, distributing data ownership to domain-specific teams that manage, own, and serve the data as a product.

The Data Daily team’s mission is to be a strategic partner that delivers value by monetizing data products & bringing efficiencies across teams. We’re the central data team for the BlaBlaCar Daily organisation, working with all teams across business, product tech, marketing and support units. We deliver data products that address fraud-fighting, analytics to our hundreds of partners, and many more.

As a Data Analyst, you directly influence user experience as well as how our partners promote carpooling. At the intersection of different domains, you will have the opportunity to enrich your own knowledge and skills while collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Software Engineers and customer-facing teams.

You’ll work closely with other Data Analysts, Software Engineers and Product Managers at BlaBlaCar and BlaBlaCar Daily teams. You will also belong to the Analytics Chapter, an internal community of 25+ analysts who meet regularly to share, learn and innovate on data analytics.

Your Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst working on the Data Daily scope, you’ll be responsible for owning the entire data product lifecycle, from collaborating with stakeholders to define and document core KPIs, to designing robust data models (using dbt) and implementing the business logic with clean, efficient SQL.

Examples of responsibilities include:

Infusing a data-informed mindset to our Business and Product strategy by working conjointly with Leadership to define, analyze and report on KPIs

Providing actionable insights on our user’s behavior during Product discovery and delivery

Overseeing Product experimentation for our feature squads: designing AB test protocols, analyzing their impact, and communicating their results

Building, improving, and maintaining a suite of self-service Tableau dashboards and supporting data consumers in becoming autonomous in their usage of data

Proactively identifying and automating data processes, such as recurring reports and data exports, to enhance operational efficiency and scale data delivery

Designing and architecting data models in the data warehouse (using dbt) to ensure data is accurate, modular, and easy to use

Within your first 6 months on the team, you will start contributing directly to various product improvements in our roadmap, and support internal teams managing our partners.

Excellent command of SQL

Experience working with our stack: Airflow / BigQuery / GCP / Tableau

Experience with data transformation tools (preferably dbt)
