We support the media sector, and we encourage them to cover today’s most pressing issues.
We identify today’s key advocacy issues, and we work with leading organizations and develop innovative ways to better the media coverage of the sustainable development goals.
We detect weak signals, pinpoint top and emerging experts, initiatives, on the ground actors, working towards more inclusive and sustainable societies.
We nurture collaborations and see ourselves as mediators.
Main Missions
– Lead Sparknews media strategy and programs:
Conceptualize and lead high impact and complex media partnerships/global campaigns to push media outlets around the world.
Serve as a point of contact on program related issues for all partners.
Manage all internal relationships with other teams in coordination with the General Management, especially the fundraising team to provide recommendations for future funding opportunities.
– Lead Sparknews’ media team (4 people):
Identify and coordinate human and technical resources, both internal and external
Implement project monitoring methods and processes.
– Represent Sparknews and our strategies to external audiences:
PROFILE REQUIRED
Master’s degree in journalism, political science, international relations, development, or a related field.
+ 5 years’ experience working on media in different regions across the world and leading large impact projects; connection and networks within the media industry are desirable.
Experience with advocacy on international development issues.
