Believe is recruiting a new Head of Design to lead the business through our next phase of rapid growth. The Head of Design will be responsible for product design across all Believe products and play an instrumental role in our success.

A central point of expertise, the Head of Design will oversee all design projects, continue to grow our design culture, and refine the vision for Believe's products. He/She will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and effective user experience, thinking about the customer’s journey over time as they interact with the product and the company. He/She will lead the design team but also take a strong hands-on design role.

The Head of Design will need to create buy-in and recognition across the business, empower internal teams to be more customer-centric, and clearly communicate the message of UX and product design.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

• Define and drive the product design strategy that integrates with, and informs, the broader product strategy
• Take a hands-on lead of UX/product design, partnering closely with IT, product and business teams to define problems and goals, research requirements, map user flows, prototype and launch new products
• Continue the development and maintenance of a new design system, spanning web and mobile channels
• Effectively manage by providing progression frameworks and opportunities to engage and retain a dedicated team of designers
• Lead our qualitative user research program, actively recruiting and talking to our customers throughout the world to optimize product experience and design
• Be actively involved in defining strategy, advocating for user needs, and thinking through design systems, not just screens
• Design and test multiple ideas quickly to validate product direction

• 7+ years of hands on UX/product design and experience with a track record of launching 5-star products
• 3+ years leading a high-performing and unified team
• Experience developing wireframes and prototypes, testing design ideas with real users to assess value and mitigate risks
• A deep appreciation of feedback and flexible in delivery while staying aligned to the design vision
• Experience with design software such as: Figma, Zeplin, ZeroHeight, and the Adobe Suite
• Enthusiastic and passionate approach to work with a track record of tackling challenges
• Strong communication skills that demonstrate ability to articulate ideas and design choices at all levels across the business
• International design experience a plus, including frequent interaction with international stakeholders
• Mobile app design experience a plus
• Fluent in French (and preferably English)
