Job summary
Would you like to help companies build new capabilities and drive savings by migrating/modernizing workloads from mainframes to the Cloud? Do you have the technology depth and breadth to help build a compelling approach for customers and partners to move these workloads from mainframes? Are you able to influence senior engineering leaders, customer CXOs, and the industry in general? Do you thrive in taking ambiguous ideas, opportunities, or problems and turning them into data-driven plans and initiatives to meaningfully impact enterprise customers? The Mainframe Migration and Modernization Program at AWS is on a mission to help enterprise customers transform their technology portfolio by re-platforming and re-factoring mainframe applications using modern development methods, architectures, & tooling and we are seeking an executive leader for our team.
As a Mainframe Migration and Modernization Partner Development Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to help Global System Integrator (GSI) partners and customers deliver major business benefits by providing a prescriptive framework for assessing and moving those workloads from mainframes to AWS. You will work closely with the cross-functional global enterprise and industry virtual teams, including Business Development, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Training, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, Marketing, Services/Product, and Sales teams. You must be comfortable with leading and influencing cross functional global teams in dynamic organizations, as most of your responsibilities will have interdependencies with other teams within AWS.
To be successful in this role, you must have experience with migrating and modernizing from mainframe environments to the Cloud. You should have deep enterprise IT domain expertise and appreciate how AWS can help partners and end customers. You should have analytical acumen, synthesis, structuring, and problem-solving skills to translate ambiguous, and often incomplete, information into action plans and insights. You will need a bias for ‘invention’ and ‘simplification’, data-driven mechanisms, and effective metrics measurement. You will also need passion for narrative style writing and be comfortable developing compelling narrative memos.
