To handle this traffic effectively, we adopted Elixir several years ago as our backend language for all new services and products.
Elixir is a functional language that runs on the Erlang virtual machine, with simple, modern syntax inspired by Ruby. Combined with the Phoenix framework, it makes building, testing, and deploying resilient applications fast and efficient.
Once again, no need to worry - we don't expect candidates to know Elixir before applying! We support all developers who join us in learning the language.

We are an agile bunch, with on-the-fly deliverables assigned daily by the Product squad. Our multidisciplinary teams are autonomous in their scope and consist of a Product Manager, a Product Designer, three to five developers, an Engineering Manager, a QA Engineer, and a Data Analyst.
Each person reports to a Manager, and developers report to an Engineering Manager depending on their squad.
Different roles work hand in hand throughout projects, and several team rituals structure our weeks:
Daily stand-ups
Backlog refinements every two weeks
Retrospectives at least twice per quarter as well as post-mortems
Synchronization meetings when two squads need to work on a common topic
Knowledge-sharing sessions every two weeks (Jungle Workshops and Practice Chapters)
Tech and Product All Hands twice per quarter to discuss team progress and updates
A Tech & Product Days event once a year to prepare the next roadmap and reflect on our practices and processes
