Today, there are different ways of advancing your career: internal mobility towards another business unit, a skill upgrade towards a position as operational expert or moving up to a managerial role. When I joined the company as a Business Operations trainee in 2018, Welcome to the Jungle offered to transform my traineeship into a full-time, permanent position, while also supporting me in getting my Master’s degree. We firmly believe that successful onboarding is an essential step to creating the foundations for a positive and sustainable experience. We have created a four-week onboarding process that is entirely compatible with remote work to help all of our new employees feel like a part of the company. We use all available teaching methods in order to be as inclusive as possible: meet-ups, presentations, classes, Q&A sessions and immersion. They are all organised to help everyone better understand our work environment and learn more about their new co-workers! We pay special attention to interpersonal relations: each new hire is assigned a buddy who will guide them through all the informal aspects in order to help them learn about their new company.
We have implemented a hiring process that reflects our ambitions and is focussed on the candidates’ experience. It strives to be efficient, caring as well challenging and stimulating: we want to learn more about our candidates, but also each of them should get something out of the interviews they have with us. We actively train our teams in the hiring process, with the idea that everyone can contribute to making it a success, not just HR. Listening and being responsive to our candidates is essential to help them see how they could build a career with us.

Team rituals and events
Life at Welcome to the Jungle revolves a number of rituals! Every quarter, we hold a Jungle Morning. It’s a great time for the entire team, where we review the company’s results and highlight the projects we’ve been working on. Every month, we hold an All Hands meeting where Jérémy answers all the questions staff may have. News about our products is also important to help everyone understand how our offer is evolving: every three months, Tech & Product teams organise a Jungle Product Show, with demos of all our new features. Lastly, it is also important for our teams to get together and bond more informally. That’s the case for our Christmas party and annual team building event as well as the more impromptu, weekly team meet-ups.
