Job description

🧑‍🤝‍🧑ABOUT THE TEAM:

Among the 500+ D-EDGERs, the Product & Engineering Department is made of 250+ enthusiasts coming from all horizons, who reinvent the hotel booking experience for both the traveler and the hotelier. We love to innovate and share our expertise and experiments through public and internal events: conferences, meetups, collaboration with schools, open-source projects, BBL, book clubs, all-hands, etc.

You will be joining the Product Design team, composed of 10 people and led by Amelie Boucher. You will be reporting to Michael Sok, Lead Product Design

Product Design is a strategic pillar to operate our company vision. The team advocates for the users’ voice and aims to put the user experience at the heart of everything we do. Product Design @ D-EDGE includes 3 areas : full-stack product design, design ops and user research.

Our great product design team has scaled very rapidly over the past 2 years. It offers us a nice playground to build on. Needless to say, we’re not only shaping the team but also the practice and culture of design @ D-EDGE. Our daily environment is highly collaborative, joyful and grounded into a test and learn approach. In short, if you’re into exploration and building stuff, you’ve come to the right place!

💻 YOUR SCOPE:

As a senior product designer, you’re responsible for the product design for your dedicated projects. You’re representing the user’s voice, overseeing the user experience from beginning to end.

🎯 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

You will join our Core CRS tribe, whose mission is to give hoteliers a command centre to streamline operations and easily manage their business.

Your responsibility here is to own and drive the design for your projects, working with your teams (Product director, Product managers, Engineers…) within the roadmap framework and ensure a high standard of quality, whether in the discovery or delivery phase:

  • DISCOVERY:

  • Exploratory workshops, sprints…

  • Secondary user research (Collaboration with client-facing teams, data exploration, competitor analysis, existing documentation…)

  • Primary user research (Surveys, interviews, contextual inquiry, observations…)

  • DELIVERY:

  • Design production (Information architecture, user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes…). For everything related to the user interface, you will be working with Overnight, our Design system.

  • Tech implementation follow-up

  • Usability testing

  • As a member of the Product design team, you’ll also be required to:

  • Collaborate with your fellow designers to ensure a high standard of quality of your work, whether on discovery or delivery phases (Design critiques, Pair-design sessions…)

  • Participate in the user research repository initiative to feed it with transversal topics

  • Work with the product design team to improve the user experience as a whole

  • Participate to the design system evolution

Preferred experience

⭐WHAT YOU’VE GOT:

  • You have 5+ years of hands-on Product design, with a majority of Software/Saas projects. You’re a T-shaped designer, with a broad range of skills and some specialisations.

  • User-oriented, with operational user research skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • High standard level of craft

  • Very proficient with design software with a particular attention to automation and standardisation (with no surprise, we’re currently operating on Figma)

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in an international context and collaborating in English on a day-to-day basis is key.

  • A demonstrating portfolio is appreciated.

The icing on the cake: 🍰

  • Design workshops skills

  • Data analytics skills
