Have you ever booked a hotel online? Then you’ve probably used D-EDGE without knowing it.

Every day, we help more than 17,000 hotels worldwide to develop their online visibility and sales through a range of SaaS and digital marketing solutions.

Amongst the 480 D-EDGERS, the R&D team is made up of a hundred or so enthusiasts who are reinventing hotel booking for both the traveller and the hotelier.

As a subsidiary of the Accor group, D-EDGE simplifies the life of independent hotels and hotel chains alike.

Job description

In a context of fast growth, you are in charge of managing and growing an engineering team of 10-30 people. The engineering scope covers one or more products of the D-EDGE Product Family, maintained by several development teams.

Management and organization

  • Leads the teams through direct and indirect management, as well as mentorship. Direct management may include Team Leads and Cross-Team Experts.
  • Ensure that the team members are learning and growing and remain motivated.
  • Ensure that the organization of the team is efficient and consistent with the team principles.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and Team Leads to execute the hiring plan with no compromise on the skills of the newcomers.
  • Ensure that all teams are managed efficiently and coordinated when necessary.

Quality and performance

  • Ensure high standards in development and quality are met and consistent.
  • Ensure that technical choices made by the teams are consistent with the general architecture principles, mature, and will be maintainable in the long term.
  • Ensure that applications and infrastructures are properly monitored, root cause of incidents is identified, and corrective action plans are executed.
  • Ensure the efficient contribution of the engineering teams to the incident management whenever necessary.
  • Ensure that the technical debt is managed and under control.


  • Ensure that the engineering teams are efficiently contributing to the roadmap, evaluating the workload, and balancing new features and technical improvements.
  • Ensure that the roadmap is delivered on time with the right balance between technical improvements and new features.

Innovation & tech community

  • Create the right conditions for technical experimentation and innovation.
  • Maintain the right balance between technical innovation and the need for mature solutions.

Business Partner

  • Collaborate with the Product Management Team to ensure coherence between theTechnical vision and the Product vision.
  • Collaborate with the business stakeholders to define, measure, and reach the right level of technical quality for the clients.

You report to a VP of Engineering.

Preferred experience

  • You have 10+ years of experience in engineering in both corporate and startup/scaleup environments.
  • You have already been the manager of an engineering team of 7+ people (Team Lead or Engineering Manager).
  • You have a strong technical background and the ability to work closely with engineering teams, understand technical requirements, choices, and architectures.
  • You are familiar with the project and software engineering past and present popular methodologies: SCRUM at scale, KANBAN, Lean, PMBOK.
  • You are a problem solver, with the ability to go deep into details whenever necessary.
  • You have good written and oral communication skills with the ability to make engineering solutions accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are highly flexible to adapt to unexpected situations whether they are related to organizational or technical aspects and find the right solutions.
  • You speak and write French and English fluently.
