We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our supply optimization algorithms team. You’ll be part ofan agile, fast-moving team of algorithm developers and data scientists that’s responsible for the fullsoftware development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

We run a lot of Kubernetes, Docker, Git, *Nix, AWS Lambdas, ECS.We deploy in Google Cloud and AWS - if you don’t have experience we’re sure you’ll have enough timeto learn the cloud stacks.

What You’ll Do

• Develop backend services using Python using appropriate libraries and frameworks.
• Apply best practices to the design of data structures and algorithms. Strive for both simplicity and performance.
• Apply best practices when designing software architecture.
• Collaborate with the team on the development of technical solutions, processes and requirements.
• Share your expertise with the team by putting your ego aside.
• Write technical docs or implementation proposals, mentor and improve the overall performance of the team.
• Keep and improve the quality of the code and surrounding automation.
• Work on self-improvement and engage with your teammates in order to achieve collective growth.
• Bring ideas to the table and participate in evaluating ideas and code.
• Take ownership of your work.

Who You Are

• You have 3+ years of proven software engineering experience.
• You have mastered Python.
• You have proven experience as a backend cloud developer.
• You are focused on delivering value to the customer.
• You are familiar with common stacks.
• You are modest, humble and proactive.
• You are a bright and personable team player.
• You have good communication and logical thinking.
• You have a very good command of the English language.

What Catches Our Eye

• BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Previous experience with Python.
• An interest or experience in combinatorial optimization, data science and algorithm development.
