We’re looking for a HS&E Manager for Southwest to join our team. The person will be based in our Morangis office.
Purpose of the role: You will be responsible for the development and effective implementation of HSE policies, procedures and assist in a sustainable culture of HSE across the Southwest region (Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal). The role will report into our Global HS&E Manager with functional dotted lien to our regional Operations Director.
What you will do:
Leading the development of Health & Safety Leadership & Culture in the region
Collaborate with regional and global management teams to implement VELUX safety guidelines and policies
Establishing a process and policies of active health and safety monitoring and support of local H&S programs and ensuring compliance to local legislative requirements across the region
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and standards.
Serve as primary contact in the region for injury and incident notification, investigation / root cause analysis, and incident management, including implementation of lessons learned.
Conduct Risk assessments
Assist and deliver HSE training to staff.
Evaluate new safety technology and monitor the distribution of safety equipment.
Promote and facilitate key safety initiatives per management requests (in 2025 the implementation of the S@VE reporting system)
Assist HSE induction to new starters and existing employees
Assist in the HSE internal and external audit program (as required)
Collaborate with different internal stakeholders to drive HSE agenda topics (P&O, CHSCT, Facilities, wider management teams)
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
Have a minimum 5 years of experience from working with HSE, preferably in an international environment
Able to encourage and coach others, when it comes to compliance with legislation and VELUX standards
Able to work across multi-cultural environment and matrix environment
Good communication skills both in French and fluent in English and another EU langue
University Degree Qualifications in related discipline preferred
Effective administrator, well organized and methodical
Have the CCSST (Certificat de Compétences en Santé et Sécurité au Travail) Certification
Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 / or 45001 will be a plus
Computer literate, experience with MS office packages
Able to travel up to 30 days per year.
