Turo is embarking upon its next phase of development in the US and we need a strong strategy leader to help accelerate our growth and orchestrate the complexities of our highly interconnected US & global business.
We’re hiring a Director, Head of Strategy & Planning - Turo US, to be a key partner to the SVP of our US business, sit on our US leadership team and work closely with execs and Turists across all functions to drive rapid progress towards our company priorities.
The role requires an outstanding candidate who will be a force multiplier across numerous initiatives, synthesizing our efforts within key customer segments across both product development planning and go to market activities. The successful individual will combine strategic thinking and financial acumen with exceptional leadership, planning and communication skills, to develop effective roadmaps that result in meaningful customer impact and help us meet our business objectives.
Establish and maintain an integrated planning process twice per year, combining thematic priorities from Execs and the Board with insights and ideas from teams across the business
Accountable for aligning with relevant stakeholders to identify all the actions required to meet key objectives, sequencing them appropriately to ensure that roadmap plans are delivered on time
Be the leading voice driving problem/solution/capability mapping to ensure we’re focused on the right areas and setup for success
Measure progress against key objectives, collaborating with data & finance to monitor whether execution across various initiatives is aligned with business goals
Review and refresh our weekly, monthly and quarterly “business review” cadences, responsible for ensuring our governance processes are making us more aligned, more aware of critical details within the business and therefore making better decisions
Partner closely with our Operations & Insurance teams, supporting Execs in both areas in the development of strategic plans that will drive down costs
Highlight areas of opportunity to enhance ways of working and systems of accountability, facilitating both better collaboration and helping to improve upon our performance culture
Hire & manage a team of Senior Strategy Managers who will amplify the impact of the Strategy & Planning team through ownership of use-case/segment strategies
Deep understanding of marketplace businesses with bonus points for experience in a peer to peer business
10+ years of consulting, finance, product or operations experience in tech including at least 6+ years of management experience
Masterful strategic storyteller, with the ability to weave a compelling narrative in Slides/PowerPoint to generate buy-in and engagement from a diverse group of stakeholders with different learning styles
A superpower for breaking down complex problems into more manageable components, implementing solutions in the right sequence for the highest leverage results and lowest team thrash
Data-literate, highly adept in excel and SQL, proficiency in other technical languages would be helpful
Strong understanding of financial reporting and commercial judgment to understand when and how operational initiatives will generate P&L impact
Solid track record of taking ownership and leading complex projects end-to-end
Natural curiosity, high level of attention to detail, driven to make an impact
Excellent communication & presentation skills, proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and/or Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive and productive relationships with peers across markets, levels & cultures
Commitment to the highest levels of excellence & quality, with the ability to influence others to match their own high standards
Demonstrates Turo’s values through work product and within day to day team interactions.

For this role, the target base salary range for the SF Bay Area is $216,000-$270,000 annually, and your recruiter can share more about the specific range for your location. This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and the benefits described below. In general, our ranges reflect the minimum and maximum market-based targets for the role based on its level and location and are subject to change. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Turo highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
