Code

  • Turn functional specs into technical specs into code.
  • Write efficient, tested, and safe backend code that is easy to read and extend.
  • Take a pragmatic approach in finding and fixing problems.
  • Help colleagues write better code through PR reviews and pair programming sessions.
  • Draft and deploy new code releases.

Communication

  • Communicate to your team what you are working on and what you need help with.
  • Communicate to people responsible for QA how your work can be tested.
  • Sync with the product team about functional specs to explain what is easy or hard to do and giving feedback to help shape the future of the product.
  • Sync with the people responsible for our infrastructure (currently external).
  • Write detailed, comprehensive, and clear documentation whenever necessary.

Ownership

  • Own features from A (product spec) to Z (deploy) and be responsible for successful release.
  • Actively voice concerns and suggest improvements about how the team is operating.

Profil recherché

  • 5+ years of NodeJS experience. We use Typescript in all our codebases.
  • Solid understanding of version control (e.g. Git).
  • You write tests before you start fixing bugs.
  • Knowledge of AWS services
  • 2+ years of working knowledge with AWS (Lambda, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, Dynamo)
  • Experience with serverless applications (https://www.serverless.com/)
  • Excellent communication skills (offline and online)
  • Product- and results oriented
  • Good English, both oral and written.
  • You have experience building and architecting RESTful APIs.
  • Familiar with managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experienced in unit testing, integration testing, end to end testing
  • Can work well in a team but is also independent and self-organized
