Le poste

Descriptif du poste

You will join our “Metocean and Acoustics” team and work closely with project managers, data analysts, engineers, biologists, and offshore data collection specialists.

You will work mainly on projects related to ports, offshore wind farms and maritime traffic.

Your main missions will be:

  • Leading and writing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in French and English to assess the impact of man-made underwater noise on marine life such as marine mammals, fish, etc.

  • Leading and writing in French and English technical bids (reports, invitations to tender, etc.) relating to underwater noise EIA.

  • Participating in studies or bids other than acoustics.

  • Participating in the preparation of underwater acoustic equipment (C-POD, F-POD, underwater acoustic recorder, mooring, etc.).

  • Conducting acoustic campaigns to deploy and recover equipment.

  • Processing underwater acoustic signals: noise measurements and marine mammal detection.

  • Modelling underwater sound propagation: noise mapping and risk assessment for marine fauna.

  • Participating in the development of machine-learning algorithms.


Profil recherché

  • 5+ years’ experience in bioacoustics and environmental impact assessment (EIA).

  • Excellent writing skills in English and French.

  • Excellent knowledge of environmental impact studies.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with different teams and clients.

  • Strong organizational skills and rigor in report writing and project follow-up.

  • Knowledge of underwater acoustic signal processing and marine mammal detection.

  • Knowledge of the physics of underwater sound propagation.

  • Technical skills :

o   Algorithms in Python (potentially R, Matlab and C++ but Python preferred)

o   Use of GIS (ArcGis / QGIS)

o   PamGuard


Déroulement des entretiens

  1. A short telephone interview with Guillaume (Talent Acquisition Manager),

  2. Two interviews with various team members, such as Loïc (Team Leader), Guillaume (Operations Director), or Yanis (CEO).
