CONTEXT

We are seeking a laboratory scientist to join the Immunology group in Montpellier, within Biomarkers & Clinical Bioanalyses (BCB), a global department within the Translational Medicine and Early Development unit (TMED) of Sanofi. BCB is a global department that plays a critical role in the development of new drugs, contributing to bioanalytical strategy and translational support from nonclinical to clinical studies. The immunology group is considered as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) which provides data and expertise in Flow Cytometry (FCM)&immunology to support nonclinical and clinical projects of Sanofi portfolio.

Location information

  • The position will be in Montpellier (South of France, near the Mediterranean Sea)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • In his/her work, the appointed candidate will have to set up FCM panels in collaboration with project team members in order to record, analyze and interpret FCM’s data to support PharmacoDynamic (PD) assessments in non-clinical and clinical studies or/and contribute to toxicological evaluation in non-clinical studies. In the daily laboratory work, the candidate should demonstrate knowledge and skills in solving scientific problems and troubleshooting
  • In addition, he/she will be the main point of contact interacting with study monitors to ensure that study phases are conducted in a timely manner with the highest quality standard, as well as providing scientific guidance on these topics
  • He/she will work with outsourcing operational group and CROs in order to transfer and monitor external analyse efforts, when necessary
  • The candidate in this position will support multiple projects and collaborate transversally with colleagues across the globe
  • The candidate will work taking in account timelines, project milestones, as well as preparing reports suitable for regulatory submission, mainly to support clinical development

PROFILE

For this position, the successful candidate should have expertise in the following three areas: immunology, flow cytometry and immunophenotyping monitoring in clinical studies.

Education and experience

  • PhD in Immunology with strong bases in Flow Cytometry
  • The ideal candidate would be an experienced scientist (3-5 years) with a proven track record in immunology, Flow Cytometry and immuno-phenotyping monitoring in clinical studies
  • Experience/knowledge in the regulatory landscape related to GCP/GCLP knowledge, as well as in relevant guidance documents (FDA/EMA/ICH, etc.) would be considered as a plus

Specific skills and competencies

  • This position requires a highly motivated, creative, and autonomous individual capable of collaborating within, and across teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are also required
  • English thorough knowledge, both spoken and written is mandatory
  • The candidate should have theoretical & experimental experience using multicolour flow cytometry (setting of panels, data analysis & interpretation) with experience in clinical studies immunophenotyping monitoring
  • Additional experiences such as knowledge of cell culture techniques and electronic data management would be a plus
