Description

The data analyst has an important role to capture all data definitions, data models and data requirements during data discovery sessions, as input for data migrations activities and/or data modeling.

In preparation for the data migration, he/she will be responsible to define the data mapping & transformation rules with support from Legacy system experts, Data SME’s and other ETL specialists. Also being a key person between business and the data migration specialists - providing input to the data migration team.

To able to do this the data analyst has a in dept understanding of the data processes, governance processes and data objects itself. He/she works very closely with the business process owners, data owners, data SMEs to define data policies, data definitions, business rules, data (governance) processes.

Your role

• Represent the data team in different projects and support the Data lead
• Capture data definitions, data models and data requirements during data discovery sessions as input for data migrations and/or data modeling
• Define & document data standardization and data cleansing requirements
• Define & document data mapping & transformation rules with support from Legacy system experts, Data SME’s and other ETL specialists
• Analyze & document gaps - escalate new data requirements to Data architect
• Being a key person between business and data migration specialists - providing input to data migration team
• Provide data validation scripts to the test manager and business
• Support the data governance team with defining data policies, data definitions, business rules and data (governance) processes. 
• Analyze the data quality and define DQ standards to ensure data compliance with regulations and other internal standards

Skillset:

• Proven work experience within Data management (e.g. Data analyst, Data engineer)
• Good understanding of business & system processes (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Salesforce)
• Good understanding of data migration processes & tools
• Good knowledge of data modeling, data design and data architecture.
• Good knowledge of Reference and Master Data Management.
• Good knowledge of Data Quality Management and DQ Issue Management.
• Well structured and organized
• High level of responsibility and commitment
• Ability to manage the big picture and understand small details at the same time
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lead data discovery session and to coordinate data migration activities
• Minimum 3-5 years experience within Data management on a global scale
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience.
