You will join the Litigation team tackling Qonto’s pre-litigation and litigation risk on the Italian market. You will manage first-hand complex customer disputes and litigation cases

You will be part of the fast-growing Legal Team, and the key contact point for our business partners as well as third parties raising a claim against Qonto.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As Legal Counsel Litigation at Qonto, you will

Manage customer disputes and litigation cases (banking law, civil, commercial, criminal law, ...) before various jurisdictions in Italy and internationally with the assistance of external legal counsel.

Be responsible for drafting formal notices, settlement agreements, and other legal documentation in relation to litigation and dispute resolution involving Qonto in Italy.

Manage and coordinate external legal counsels as well as internal inputs from stakeholders.

Support in the development and implementation of legal strategy to reduce the risk of disputes and litigations while keeping a high level of customer satisfaction.

Collaborate and develop proactive relationships with various teams to anticipate potential customer complaints.

Strengthen the collaboration with the Ops teams including reviewing and updating existing processes and implementing new processes as needed.

• Provide general day-to-day legal advice to our Ops Teams on a variety of legal issues related to the Italian market.

• Provide legal training to Customer Service and other teams to raise legal awareness.

🤝 About your future manager

Your future Manager will be Ghislain our Legal Counsel in charge of the Litigation & Banking Ops teams

Their background?

Before joining Qonto, Ghislain worked for 6 years as a litigator specializing in product regulatory law and commercial litigation. He trialed cases before Courts all over France and provided internal advice to companies of various industries or in the scope of criminal investigations or investigations carried out by surveillance authorities. Ghislain lived in all Qonto countries.

What do they bring to the team?

Ghislain brings expertise in litigation as well as a good understanding of internal operational processes. Ghislain and his team members are privileged contact points for the operational teams. More generally, Ghislain attaches great importance to teamwork within his team and gives autonomy and freedom to learn and grow.

🏅 About You

Experience: You have at least 3-5 years practicing law in a law firm or in-house, with a focus on banking law and dispute resolution. Experience with handling disputes and litigation for payment institutions is highly preferred.

Academic Background: Qualified to practice law in Italy. Preferably with a Master's degree in banking law and/or dispute resolution.

Business-oriented: You are able to put your legal expertise in perspective with Qonto’s business and always provide recommendations that are business-oriented. You have experience working across various teams in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: You are able to work well with individuals across diverse teams and cultures. You are able to collaborate and function well in a team environment.

Analytical mind & rigorous: You have excellent organization and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases and disputes simultaneously.

Curious mindset: You are intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, a fast learner, and are excited by a dynamic startup environment. You are happy with working in a constantly evolving and unsettled technological and legal landscape. You want to have an impact and contribute actively to the payment solution all businesses love.

Mastery: You are a self-starter; You are able to justify conclusions that you reach to stakeholders.

Languages: You are fluent in both Italian and English. French, or German is a plus.
