Position Summary - End-of-studies Internship subject

This internship is motivated by the enrichment of the Prose Data Platform with a new component: the simulation framework. This simulation framework will be used to benchmark, make prediction models and iterate over Prose core formulation algorithms & models. The goal of this internship is to develop this new framework, as a fast, reliable, scalable & integrated component in the whole Prose Data Platform, following all good practices & code quality expected from any Data Engineer at Prose.

As a Data Engineer intern, you will be a member of the data squad and a major contributor to the Prose Data Platform.

As a reference, the key responsibilities of all Data Engineers regardless of the specific internship subject. This internship will be realised in an end-to-end fashion, from conception to industrialization and monitoring in a real-life production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to enable reliable and faster business analysis and reporting
• Develop processes for automating, testing, and deploying your work
• Work closely with the devops team to define the right infrastructure to support the Data Platform (monitoring, scaling, automation, security, etc...)
• Monitor and maintain the Data Platform in production
• Maintain source code repository of scripts/packages (SQL, Python/R) and other products (dashboards, data blog, reports, etc.)
• Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality
• Discover new opportunities for data acquisition
• Stay current on new technologies and continuously improve skills
• Bring your personal expertise and ideas to help solve problems creatively and effectively
• Promote the company's mission and values

Key Candidate Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree or Engineering school mandatory (with a Data-Science specialization)
• A first experience o na Data Engineering project (using Python, cloud based architecture, and/or similar technologies) is a plus
• A knack for writing clean, readable and maintainable code
• Proficient with Git, a Unix shell, Python development tools and all others day-to-day developer tools
• Ability to communicate in French and English about your projects to shareholders

Start date and duration : April/May 2024 for 6 months
