Your role

You will hold a strategic leadership position, overseeing all legal matters for our organization.

Working closely with the executive team, you will be responsible for managing a talented team of legal professionals, developing and implementing legal strategies, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations across our global operations.

You will report to the CFO in close proximity to the CEO.

You will manage the Legal team composed of 7 people working for France, Spain, and the UK.

You will collaborate with all teams across the company: Finance, HR, Strategy, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Product, etc.

This position is based in France.

Your missions

As a VP Legal, you will:

 At a Company level: 

• Develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy aligned with our overall business objectives, taking into account the complexities of our international operations and evolving legal landscape;

•Lead and advise on the full suite of legal and regulatory functions for the company (Corporate Governance, Intellectual Property, Social and Labor Law, etc.);

• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to the executive team and other key stakeholders on a wide range of business matters, and be the company risks advocate;

•  Oversee the development and implementation of robust compliance policies, procedures, templates, and training materials to ensure adherence to legal requirements and minimize organizational risk;

• Monitor emerging legislation and regulation, and advise the company of regulatory developments.

At a team level: 

• Define the strategy, objectives, and key results for the legal team to set a high standard for success, and drive performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of it;

• Manage and mentor a diverse team of legal professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively in a fulfilling environment.

• Manage outside counsel with your team, including in litigation matters if necessary.

This job has been tailored for you if:

You have 15+ years of professional legal experience (in-house required and private practice is a plus);

You have strong experience in managing multi-disciplinary legal teams: compliance, privacy, corporate, contract, RGPD, IP, IT law, and social law (more than 4 people)

You have experience in a legal leadership capacity in the tech industry and fast-growing companies (ideally B2B Saas);

You have a proven track record of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation to provide solutions for business teams;

You have experience working on cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion;

You have experience with M&A transactions;

You have some knowledge and experience with IP rights, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, GDPR, and privacy regulations a plus.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take initiative and build productive relationships internally and externally;

You are a strategic thinker who can quickly identify key issues and navigate complexity;

You have demonstrated your ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines;

You have an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;

You have good judgment and an assertive voice in ambiguous and challenging circumstances;

You are fluent in French and have an impeccable English.
