Your Mission:

As an Engineering Manager you’ll report to the Head of Product and Engineering Germany. We are scaling the team from 10 to 24 people, and you’ll manage one out of 3 squads within the local product tribe.

You’ll work closely with the dedicated Product Manager for your squad to build a scalable product architecture that fulfills the needs of our customers, ensures compliance and data security, and sets our business up for growth.

You’ll manage, coach and lead a team of Product Builders.

It is your mission to master and leverage our in-house low-code software platform JetLang (for more info feel free to read our blog article) to build viable payroll technology for our German customer base.

Your Challenge

  • Manage and develop a team of 3-6 Product Builders (a hybrid function merging engineering, product, and design elements; for more context please have a look here)
  • Be responsible for technical implementations of your squad and support your squad in developing high-quality and scalable solutions  
  • Establish best practices for coding, quality assurance, and incident management 
  • Work together in a cross-functional product and design team to develop the short- and mid-term vision and strategy for your squad
  • Work closely with the global “Jetlang Platform Tribe” (JLP) and our German Product Architect to support JLP in further development of our low-code coding platform
  • Set clear goals and provide feedback to team members on a regular basis
  • Coach and encourage the product builders in your squad with regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews and development discussions
  • Motivate and empower the team to achieve a high level of quality and reliability
  • Participate actively in the recruitment processes for the further expansion and growth of the team
  • Your Profile

  • Experience in people management (for at least 1 year) with several years of experience in tech environment e.g. Software Development, Engineering or Information Architecture 
  • Knowledge in designing software systems for large-scale businesses
  • Experience in applying best practices to ensure that the software is functional and scalable
  • Solid understanding of security by design
  • Experience in SaaS B2B, especially for HR, tax solutions or other regulated sectors, is an advantage
  • Highly motivated to develop outstanding solutions together with your team
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to make decisions based on data
  • You lead according our PayFit values passion, excellence, care and humility
  • Understanding and knowledge of the benefits and challenges of low-code solutions is an advantage
  • You are fluent in German and English
