Job Duties:
Participates in team, guild, and cross functional review processes relevant to their team.
Accountable for feature metrics and understands how the proposed solution addresses business needs.
Recommends solutions by articulating opportunities and tradeoffs concerning both technical and business value.
Estimates and manages project deadlines and mentors the team on priorities.
A acts as the technical lead for complex features in cross-functional teams.
Contributes to defining strategic direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback to ensure team success.
Ensures that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure.
Advises manager, product, and design with insights and recommendations to improve the team’s productivity.
Participates in the hiring and onboarding process beyond their immediate team (conducting technical interviews, identifying opportunities, and evangelizing Turo).
Leads and contributes to more significant initiatives on their platform that may require collaboration across engineering, including other platforms and domains.
Proactively identifies opportunities to improve systems’ maintainability, scalability, and reliability.
Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Turo offices may be required.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field, OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and seven (7) years of
progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.
Special Skill Requirements:

For this role, the target base salary range in San Francisco, CA is $218,000.00 - $274,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
