Build a strategic positioning/vision and plan

• Participate in the construction of Numa Health‘s scientific and development strategy, in collaboration with the CEO, the VP Science and the Head of Product development
• Drive business development by serving as the data science expert on highly innovative and analytical project opportunities
• Prepare long-term projects and roadmap
• Identify potential collaborations and fundings opportunities (French or European)

Data Science Team Management

• Develop and manage the activity of its responsibility scope on the fields: Data science (Bio statistics, machine learning and data engineering), to bring robust answers and scientific benefit both in collaborative projects and own research
• Ensure the execution of the project activities (in cost, quality and deadlines), and drive the budget of his entity, processes, means, team performance indicators and planning.
• Expanding and upskilling our data science team, including recruiting top talent, onboarding new team members, and advancing existing team members’ capabilities
• Create the conditions for technological innovation and scientific emulation in its field of expertise, by creating effective internal and external synergies.

Propose realistic and valuable data science solutions

• Gather and analyse the data, identify key prediction/classification problems, design solutions, build prototypes, and stay knowledgeable on published state-of-the-art algorithms
• Prepare long-term projects and roadmap
• Develop, test, implement algorithms in scalable, production-ready code
• Industrialize and monitor models in production
• Investigate new academic and industrial modelling techniques to apply to our business cases
• Contribute to the scientific articles

Insure Numa Health’s relationship with its ecosystem

• Represent Numa in scientific meetings and events
• Collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders (Science dept., Product dept., hospitals, external partners: academics and medical actors, etc.) to understand their needs or requirements, as well as insuring relationship management

Experience required

• ≥ 10 years as a Developer and Data Scientist, Master degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science or a related quantitative field
• Experience in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating and analyzing data
• Experience with traditional statistical learning as well as machine learning techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning, in some various projects
• Experience with industrialization e.g. putting models in production and monitoring their performance
• Experience in health academic studies
• [nice-to-have] Experience in startup environment

Hard-skills

• Have a good knowledge of traditional statistical learning as well as machine learning techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning
• Appreciate participating to the management as well as the development / analysis
• Have strong skills in sharing and teaching your knowledge
• Proficient in ML Ops and ML Engineering frameworks : experiment trackers, orchestrators, monitoring, data lineage…
• Fluent in both spoken and written French and English
