Financial controller apprentice
Who are they?
Neoplants is a biotech start-up founded by Lionel (Ex Google) and Patrick (PhD Genetic Editing, ENS), working on the first generation of bio-engineered plants to fight air pollution. We’re starting with indoor air pollution, which is up to 5 times higher than outdoors, and is caused by a specific type of pollutant called VOCs. We create plants capable of effectively remediate these compounds in your home (up to 30 times more effective than traditional plants). Our longer-term ambition is to leverage our technologies for other large-scale applications, such as CO2 capture and storage. We are backed by top tier Silicon Valley and European investors and we are currently based in Paris, France.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work with our Head of Finance & Operations and be involved in both cash management and management control.
As the direct report of the Head of Finance & Operations you will also support him in his mission of building and operating the company on a daily basis, constantly moving from financial and strategic topics to solving day-to-day operational business challenges.
If you have a proactive mindset, a very high attention to details, an extremely rigorous work ethic, a fair dose of curiosity and ingenuity and want to apply that in as strategic business context, this role is for you.
From day 1 you will work closely with the Business team on key workstreams with very aggressive timelines.
Your work will impact all future Neoplants projects, and thus will be instrumental in achieving our long-term vision.
Scope of position (but not limited to):
You will assist the Head of Finance & Operations in his daily tasks (cash flow reporting, bank reconciliations, entry of discrepancies in the accounts, etc.).
Participate in the production of operational and financial data, within the framework of financial cycles: monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting (data extraction, reconciliation).
Monitor the budget gap analysis, and play an active role in preparing monthly performance reviews for the management teams.
Be involved in ad hoc projects and analyses designed to monitor and measure the company’s financial performance.
Help strengthened the Financial Control function by making suggestions for optimizing and automating tasks.
You may be asked to occasionally help with operational or legal matters according to the need of the Business Team.

Nice to have:
In the process of obtaining a Bac +5 degree, specialized in finance or data analysis,
Prior experience of at least a 6-month internship in Corporate Finance, Financial controlling and / or Audit is required
Facility with IT tools, data management and Excel / Gsheet
Confident in a fast-paced and ever-changing dynamic environment.
Real sense of analysis, and are rigorous and proactive.
Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to get your message across.
Fluent French and English speaker
