Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and Iron Bird Platform Manager

As a key member of the “Avionics System and Simulation Platform” team, you will be responsible for the coordination, configuration and operational readiness of the Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and Iron Bird platforms, which are essential to validate our avionics and launch vehicle systems in realistic and integrated test environments.

You will evolve within an Agile and iterative development environment, where the platform must adapt quickly to support evolving systems, integration stages, and test priorities.

Your main tasks:

  • Ensure the operational readiness, availability, and configuration control of the HIL and Iron Bird platforms.

  • Plan and coordinate test activities, platform usage, and resource allocation in collaboration with internal teams (Avionics, GNC, Software, AIT, etc.).

  • Interface with subsystem teams to define integration needs, support test scenario preparation, and follow up on execution.

  • Perform installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance of the platform’s hardware and software components, ensuring proper operation and readiness for test activities.

  • Actively troubleshoot issues, apply performance improvements, and update the platform as needed to support project goals.

  • Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and configuration management of the platforms.

  • Provide visibility on platform status: usage rate, availability, readiness for upcoming milestones.

  • Collaborate with platform stakeholders within an Agile framework, adapting quickly to changes and iteration cycles.

Requirements:

🛸General competences & abilities:

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment

  • Adaptability and comfort in an Agile, evolving project context

  • Hands-on mindset, autonomy and problem-solving approach

🛸Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience managing or operating HIL, Iron Bird or similar integration/test platforms in aerospace, automotive or other complex systems.

  • Familiarity with Agile development environments (Scrum, incremental deliveries).

  • Understanding of avionics, embedded systems, sensors/actuators, and test equipment.

  • Coordination experience across engineering teams and support functions.

  • Hands-on experience on electronic lab equipment (instrumentation, programmable power supply, bus spy, network configuration, harness test tools, ICs rework, GPIB/LXI/PXI/etc..)

  • Awareness of relevant standards (ECSS, DO-xxx, ISO 26262, etc.) is a plus.

🎓Qualification:

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma (BTS, DUT, Licence professionnelle or equivalent) in aerospace, electronics, systems integration or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in platform coordination, integration, or test environment operation.
