Job Description – Engineering Team Manager

We are looking for a servant leader to guide and support our engineering people.

In each DevProdOps team, first-line management (N+1) is shared between three key roles: the Scrum Master, Architecture Owner, and Product Owner.
The Engineering Team Manager acts as the N+2 for all engineering team members, providing people leadership, support, and development.

This is a people management role, not a control function. The Engineering Team Manager contributes to technical, organizational, and process discussions by providing feedback, insights, and ideas to the relevant stakeholders (CEO, CPO, CTO, CPeO, People & Culture team, Scrum of Scrums, etc.).

Main Missions

1. Support and empower the Scrum Masters, Architecture Owners, and Product Owners

  • Ensure team efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Foster a positive and healthy work environment.

  • Coach, motivate, and guide people to grow and perform at their best.

  • Support performance reviews, feedback, and development actions.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and best practices.

2. Support teams and individuals

  • Prevent silos and encourage cross-team collaboration.

  • Mediate and resolve interpersonal or team conflicts when needed.

  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.

3. Contribute to continuous improvement

  • Analyze data and feedback to improve processes and collaboration.

  • Identify and address challenges with People & Culture and Scrum Masters in order to implement solutions and to effectively resolve them

  • Support the People & Culture team and the Scrum Masters to identify and implement necessary organization evolution

  • Promote learning, evolution, and the continuous development of people and practices.

  • Manage and coordinate training initiatives across teams.

4. Embody servant leadership

  • Lead by example, through trust, transparency, and empathy.

  • Help people understand the impact of their work.

  • Encourage collaboration and engagement.

  • Care personally for team members and support their growth.

  • Ask for and act on feedback.

Profile and Requirements

  • Strong alignment with our cultural framework and Agile mindset (from vision to way of working)

  • Proven experience or very well understanding of servant leadership and people management.

  • Experience in Agile way of working.

  • Experience in development, production, operations of space systems

  • Education: Bac+5 or equivalent.

  • Locations: La Défense + Vernon.

Reporting Line

Reports to the CTO.
Works closely with the CPeO, CPO, and People & Culture team.
