SHIPPING CLERK I
SUMMARY
Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; packing, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:

• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list.
• Pack, seal, label, and affix proper labeling to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools.
• Retrieves part number on computer, determines correct sales order and prepares invoices.
• Sorts identifies and counts stock, verifying against shipping list and control records.
• Follows customer specifications in packing, packaging, and routing.
• Pulls and issues components for assembly routers. Maintains accurate records of blank stock and components. Stock blank parts in preparation for future routers.
• Stocks customer returns, verifying count, part and lot number.
• Takes physical inventory of finished goods. Issues parts for finished goods assembly routers. Checks correctness of inventory records.
• Oversees the accuracy of inventory.
• Ensures that all records are kept in accordance to our quality management system.
• Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
• All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
• All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
• All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
• Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
• Adheres to all company health, safety, and environmental polices and procedures.
• Other duties assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working experience of shipping procedures
• Working knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet software

Mathematical Skills

        Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)             Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; Database systems; and Internet software

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, licenses, registrations
• Forklift License preferred
