SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer II is responsible for providing technical support to their assigned UAP (Autonomous Production Unit), Quality, Support Departments, and to Outside Customers with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:

• Utilizes LEAP (LISI Excellence Achievement Program) tools and other continuous improvement tools and methods to provide timely technical and other support within their assigned UAP to ensure timely resolution to all UAP matters.

• Participates in PSM2 meetings and collaborates with other team members within their assigned UAP to ensure timely response and resolution to the needs of the Plant.

• Perform internal and supplier audits in accordance with published schedules and procedures or specifications.

• Review and follow-up on corrective action submittals and closes acceptable corrective actions, escalates to management as necessary any questionable corrective actions.

• Review engineering drawings for accuracy following QA procedures.

• Initiate and/or revise Quality Assurance manual, procedures, and work instructions.

• Update and mail supplier quality and delivery rating reports, as required.

• Advise the Director of Quality Assurance of any possible quality concerns/ incidents as required.

• Is the point of contact and individual who accompanies customers during an audit and provide any requested information and documentation for on-site review.

• Perform AS9100 awareness training and implements processes as assigned by Management.

• Perform detailed trending analysis of related quality data identifying top issues in pareto format, and facilitate problem and/or process improvement activities. Develops action plans to reach site objectives.

• Perform and/or leads 8D, PDCA, DAMIC methodologies across the site.

• Maintain and support the Quality Management system AS9100, NADCAP, etc…to include: reviews, audits, and training.

• Support and or lead Preliminary Material Review Team (PMRT) and work actively with team including dispositions as required.

• Continually exemplifies and is an advocate of LISI Aerospace’s Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles as stated in LISI Aerospace’s Team Member Handbook.
• Champions and participates in the LEAP (LISI Excellence Achievement Program) in support of the Company’s commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of; HSE, Quality, and Production.
• Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in related discipline and minimum 3 years directly related experience required and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certified, Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Must be certified CQE and/or CQA
• Certification and/or experience in the following; 8D, 5S, Kaizen, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Working knowledge of special processes, manufacturing methods, metallurgy, design and documentation

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
