About the role

We’re looking for a Talent Sourcer to join our growing Tokyo team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the expansion of Kraken across the JAPAC region during a key phase of growth.

As a Talent Sourcer, you’ll play a crucial role in identifying and engaging top talent across delivery, engineering, product, commercial, and operational roles. Working closely with recruiters and hiring managers, you’ll help build strong, diverse pipelines and contribute to a first-class candidate experience from the very first touchpoint.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking talent team that’s passionate about raising the bar in how we find and attract great people. This is a highly visible role with real impact - helping shape how we show up in new markets, tell our story, and scale thoughtfully as we grow.

What you’ll do

  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand team goals and build smart, targeted sourcing strategies across tech, product, commercial, and operations roles in JAPAC
  • Proactively source, engage, and nurture top-tier talent through a variety of channels, including LinkedIn, Bizreach, Seek, talent communities, referrals, and events
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs, ensuring a strong and diverse slate of candidates
  • Conduct initial outreach and screening conversations, effectively representing our brand and culture to prospective candidates
  • Use talent market insights and sourcing data to inform hiring strategies, influence decision-making, and identify new opportunities for engagement
  • Collaborate with the wider talent team to continuously improve our sourcing tools, processes, and candidate experience
  • Contribute to employer branding efforts by sharing market feedback and helping identify opportunities to increase visibility in key talent communities
  • Support DEI initiatives through inclusive sourcing strategies and consistent candidate engagement practices
  • Work cross-functionally with global teammates to share knowledge, align sourcing strategies, and contribute to scalable growth
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the business, helping us grow our presence and reputation in the JAPAC talent market
  • What you'll need

  • Proven experience in talent sourcing or recruitment, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong research and sourcing skills across platforms like LinkedIn, Boolean search, talent databases, and other creative channels
  • A deep understanding of the full talent sourcing lifecycle - from market mapping and outreach to candidate nurturing and conversion
  • Experience sourcing across a range of roles (e.g. tech, product, commercial, operations ideally), in Japan
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages and engage passive talent
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to partner effectively with recruiters, hiring managers, and global teammates
  • Comfort working with data to inform sourcing decisions, track progress, and share insights with the teamA proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented approach - always looking for better ways to find and engage great people
  • A genuine interest in candidate experience, employer branding, and inclusive hiring practicesFamiliarity with tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Bizreach, Gem, or other sourcing and CRM platforms
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese
