Jus Mundi is looking for a Head of Data to build and scale our next generation data foundation.
As a Head of Data, you are leading the architecture the data ingestion pipelines that power our global legal intelligence platform. You will lead data gestion, engineering and Document AI pipelines, and you own databases architectures that support different products at Jus Mundi.

You will lead our Data team, building reliable, scalable, and intelligent data systems that process millions of legal documents. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, AI research, legal knowledge experts, and product teams to ensure our data systems power all key product and research initiatives. You’ll also establish the technology and infrastructure our data analysts need to succeed.
Data Infrastructure & Storage:
Build and maintain a scalable data lake/warehouse as the company’s single source of truth
Design robust schemas, data contracts, and metrics layers
Ensure data quality, lineage, versioning, and monitoring across all datasets
Create reliable, well-documented, reusable datasets for analysts and stakeholders
Data Ingestion & Processing:
Lead the architecture and ownership of automated ingestion pipelines across PDFs, HTML, scanned documents, APIs, and repositories
Oversee the integration of AI throughout the ingestion flow including OCR, document classification, metadata extraction, LLM and VLM based structuring, and schema enforcement
Deliver a unified data and AI pipeline that supports both batch and streaming use cases
Ensure high quality corpus generation including deduplication, normalization, enrichment, and versioning
You will be empowered to lead key initiatives on data automation, AI enabled extraction, and pipeline reliability. You will make a direct impact on the quality and intelligence of our legal research platform.
Minimum of 12 years in data engineering or data platform leadership, including 4 years of team management.
Strong experience designing automated ingestion pipelines and ETL or ELT systems.
Expertise with data lake, data warehouses.
Expertise with modern data processing tools such as Spark, Beam, Flink, Talend, Glue, or Databricks.
Advanced Python and SQL, plus solid cloud architecture experience with AWS or GCP.
Understanding of containers, orchestration, and infrastructure as code.
Experience with document intelligence including OCR, metadata extraction, classification, and layout aware models.
Hands on familiarity with models like LayoutLM, Donut, DocTr, or PaddleOCR.
Practical experience integrating ML inference into data pipelines with quality and drift monitoring.
Awareness of LLM and VLM capabilities, including prompt design, embeddings, chunking, and schema enforcement.
Ability to choose between OCR, layout models, or VLMs for complex documents with tables, stamps, and signatures.
Proven ability to architect scalable ingestion to extraction pipelines that support search, retrieval, and training data.
Experience in AI first or document heavy industries is a strong plus.
