🎯 What You Will Do

We are looking for talented people who are willing to build the most amazing rewards experience for consumers while growing their own skills and expertise.

As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for a polyvalent, multi-skilled, and highly challenging scope of work. You will report directly to the CFO.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for ensuring the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, in France as well as in other countries Joko may be made available in the future.

  • Take any relevant action to prevent the company from litigation. Be the person in charge if any litigation eventually comes out.

  • Be the go-to person when it comes to drafting or reviewing contracts for all aspects of Joko’s activity: employees, freelancers, merchant partners, suppliers, terms and conditions, etc.;

  • In coordination with our DPO, take full responsibility for GDPR compliance: monitor our personal data treatment register and privacy policy, make sure we have safe IT security routines, assist our product team in any compliance-related issue;

  • Ensure that we establish a best-in-class legal framework for our employees: fully comply with our ‘accord d’entreprise,’ draft employment contracts and all necessary documents in accordance with labor law, and coordinate CSE management;

  • Ensure thorough oversight of all aspects of corporate law events, including BSPCE allocations and exercises, general shareholders’ assemblies, board meetings, and cap table management;

  • Along with our external advisor, make sure we have strong IP management procedures, including follow-up on domain names, trademarks, and competitive intelligence;

  • In general, coordinate the legal aspect of the international expansion of the company, especially in the US where Joko is already available.


Profil recherché

  • Education: You have a Master’s degree from a Tier 1 law university with a specialization in private law. Ideally, you hold a CNIL certification that assesses your knowledge of personal data management.

  • Experience: You have a proven 3 to 5 years experience as a lawyer, either in a law firm, a legal department of a fast-growing company, or both. You possess experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in both national and international environments, along with a strong knowledge of GDPR and personal data management. Additionally, you are adept at preventing and handling legal litigations of any kind.

  • Languages: You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken, as we are expanding internationally.

  • Communication: You have excellent analytical and synthesis skills, and you know how to explain complex topics in a simple way. You are recognized for your writing abilities.

  • Efficiency: You are fond of productivity tools and able to deliver on time on projects with many stakeholders. You are able to work with autonomy.

  • Attention to details: You know that the devil is in the details, and you have a talent for spotting flaws when there are.

  • Mindset: You have an entrepreneurial mindset, you like challenges and you like getting hands-on.
